Newsletter - April 2021
Hello dear students,
Hope you are enjoying the sunshine and absorbing the blue sky – Akasha.
Blue sky in Sanskrit can also translate as mind space.
We are told in many different ways to come out of the darkness of the past and come into the light of the present.
But how do we do this?
If we listen to the stuff in the mind, taking us on many adventures, this chatter is centred around you;
Judgements, accusations and blame such as “they could have done it better” or “I would never do that” or “that’s not right”.
The way out of all this is to FORGIVE – the situation. This may seem hard as you are right and they are definitely wrong but it is just your perception and take on it anyway.
This is how it is, forgive the situation, let it go, and be free.
In my teens I was always right and everyone else was definitely wrong, towards my twenties I thought there might be a glimmer of truth in what my elders said, then I met Iyengar and things changed.
I preferred to be happy rather than right.
Zoom classes will continue through the Easter break. For the Easter week it will be a recording, request a link as usual. There are many advantages in yoga on Zoom and I have so enjoyed seeing distance students that I have not taught in 30-40 years (and are still on our mailing list) – these classes will continue.
The good news is that we can resume our classes in person next term at Beaconsfield Hall.
Rosie at Asthall Manor does not let out the ballroom hall in the Spring so Johns Monday class will now be at Beaconsfield Hall, Shipton-under-Wychwood, OX& 6BQ on a Tuesday at 7.30 – 8.45pm, starting on 18th May.
The WEDNESDAY CLASS 9.45am – 11.15am (plus meditation meeting for those who wish to stay – no cost) is starting back at Beaconsfield Hall on 19th May.
For distance students or those who want to keep their distance! You can ask for a link for the live class or a recorded version of it.
Thank you so much for your letters of appreciation for the last “Morning in Yoga” – the next long morning will be 28th April 9.45am – 12.45pm on Zoom. Hopefully resuming the long day Wednesday on 19th May in the hall 9.45am – 3pm.
Extra TT classes on weekends and days.
I look forward very much to teaching you again
In the love of yoga
Ruth
