NEWSLETTER - FEBRUARY 24

Dear One,

Is fear just anticipation

We all hold fear in our bodies. It causes tensions and even locked joints.

My experience is the closer I get to the feared, the smaller it gets and when I am in the present moment it’s gone. E.g. climbing up the ladder to the top diving board I was filled with fear standing on the board looking down - great fear!

As soon as I had jumped (not swallow dive), I was free of fear. In fact, I felt a great freedom and joy, sailing through the air (holding my nose).

Watching historical films of beheadings (usually kings or queens), there is either a great struggle, anticipating what is about to happen. Or a calmness as they kneel at the block in the present moment - even talking to the beheader.

When the Titanic was sinking and there was pandemonium amongst those on board, a group of Christian’s on deck remained still and sang hymns.

Stay in your right mind - in the present where the future / the anticipation does not exist.

“The moment your attention turns to the Now, you feel a presence, a stillness, a peace.”

– Eckhart Tolle.

If the cold is getting to you, stand tall and lift your heart, as if the sun were beating down on you, breathe deeply and stride on – it works!

It’s only the outside of you that feels cold. Inside only varies ½ a degree (unless you have hypothermia).

Standing postures are an excellent way of encouraging your circulation.

My camping holidays are punctuated with standing postures, to keep warm.

Yoga at Aura Soma with Ruth White

Thursday 27th June – Monday 1st July.

Dev Aura, Little London, Tetford, Lincolnshire, LN9 6QL.

Ruth teaches with enthusiasm and a sense of fun and brings the same warmth and clarity to her talks and demonstrations. She is well known for her attention to detail, she has the ability to enable people to see through their limitations and experience a sense of freedom.

We are delighted to announce that Narain is joining us for these 5 days.

Guest speaker, Narain, formerly an Ishaya monk, who has been sharing his wisdom with us & internationally for over 28 years, will be joining us to share his inspiring and philosophical yoga talks. He has a gift of revealing, in his simple way, the truths of yoga. The truths that lie beyond the physical aspects.

Originally the Old Rectory, set in a picturesque village in the heart of Lincolnshire, Dev Aura is now a fine, spacious, and friendly mansion set in beautifully landscaped gardens. The whole atmosphere is conducive to Yoga and relaxation. It is warm, light, and spacious. In the nearby fields herbs are grown for their healing oils and bio-dynamic properties. The food is all organic, the cuisine is delicious, and the water is double osmotically filtered and spun. This magical place has a special energy about it. For those who love to hea the truth, come and experience it!

Bookings are taken on a first come first serve basis and are limited to 27 spaces. Narain’s retreats are well attended as he has many followers, so please book soon.
